ORIGINS OF THE GYPSY HORSE
The Gypsy Horse was bred and used by the Romany (Gypsy) people in the UK, and have been around for over 100 years.
Early on, the Gypsy horses weren't particularly large, as the Gypsy people used flat carts, but once they started using wagons (Vardos) they needed a more powerful horse to pull the extra load.
It is without a doubt that in the beginning there was some introduction of Shire, Clydesdale and many pony breeds which went to make the horse the Gypsy people wanted and needed.
As time went on, the breed developed into the horse we know today.
